Today is a day I never want to forget because it is a day that I received the kindest message from a customer that truly warmed my heart and reminded me of the fire in my soul that pushes me to do what I do.
" And I have to say, it has been REFRESHING to meet a female artisan, builder. Thank you for putting aside gender stereotypical roles and creating wonderful things with your hands. You are an inspiration to many young women out there who want to get into trades. I wish you all the best and will be cheering you on!"
I am so proud of what I accomplish day in and day out. I run a company, in which I build things with my own two hands, design my projects, create my marketing material, balance my finances, and grow my network among the hundreds of other details involved with being a small business owner, while attending university full time, while being a parent to a very energetic 5 year old. It wasn't until recently that I decided to change the way I think about who I am that I realized, I'm pretty bad ass! I am surrounded by women who could conquer the world, who constantly raise the bar, and who exemplify what it is to be strong and brave in this crazy world and it is because of these women who support and motive me that I can now appreciate my own talents and flaws!
Defying the norm is something that used to scare me to my core, but now.. I live for it!
